Now porn industry wants a bit of the bailout action
As per Sky News, Two pornography bosses are calling for a £3.2bn ($5bn) fund for the adult entertainment industry from the US government.
Larry Flynt, the mogul behind Hustler magazine, and Joe Francis, creator of the Girls Gone Wild videos, says Americans are at risk of losing their libidos.
The pair want the cash injection “to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America”.
“It’s time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America. The only way they can do this is by supporting the adult industry and doing it quickly.”

“Congress seems willing to help shore up our nation’s most important businesses, we feel we deserve the same consideration,” Mr Francis said in a statement.
“In difficult economic times, Americans turn to entertainment for relief.
“More and more, the kind of entertainment they turn to is adult entertainment.”
The two men stressed the £8.5bn ($13bn) adult entertainment industry was not in imminent danger of collapse.
I would like to add that one of the biggest cultural changes in the United States over the past 25 years has been the widespread acceptance of sexually explicit material - pornography.
In the space of a generation, a product that once was available in the back alleys of big cities has gone corporate, delivered now directly into homes and hotel rooms by some of the biggest companies in the United States.
It is estimated that Americans now spend somewhere around $10 billion a year on adult entertainment, which is as much as they spend attending professional sporting events, buying music or going out to the movies.
Consumer demand is so strong that it has seduced some of America’s biggest brand names, and companies like General Motors, Marriott and Time Warner are now making millions selling erotica to America.
So the big question is - Are Larry Flynt and Joe Francis justified in asking for the bailout?? and will a dying porn industry affect America’s economy and will result in more layoffs????
